The MEC of Education in the Eastern Cape, Fundile Gade will on Friday, 20 April 2021 be handing over Bedford Junior Secondary School in Amathole West at 10h00.

The school is amongst the group of 33 schools that are going to be handed over in different communities in Eastern Cape.  The school was built by the Eastern Cape Department of Education under the provincial infrastructural budget at an amount of R77.6 million.

As the department continues to deliver to its priorities of making sure that Teaching and Learning is taking place in conducive environment, the MEC believes that for the province to be in a better pedestal, stakeholders that are interested in the sector can only be involved in reshaping the sector when there are commendable strides done by the department.

“Whilst we continue to call on the business sector and financial institutions to invest in our province through education, as leaders of government we are duty bound to respect the public purse that we are tasked with by our electorate by delivering quality services using the allocated budget,” said Gade.
