MEC Gade leads Chris Hani East Education Summit

The Eastern Cape Department of Education MEC, Fundile Gade will tomorrow, April 29, 2021 kick-start the Chris Hani East District's two-day Education Summit with a media briefing scheduled for 10:00 am at the Engcobo Municipal Council Chambers. 

The briefing is meant to give a status update on critical matters relating to the advancement of education especially in rural areas. 

The MEC will also address the audience on the key strategic goals of the ECDoE to set and guide the tone of discussions on the implementation of Education New Service Delivery Model (2017) in the province. 

This will be done with the aim to provide for a uniform system for the Department and funding of schools, to amend and repeal certain laws relating to schools, as well as to provide for matter connected therewith. Details of the event are as follows:

The MEC must address the issue of Educator Assistants contracts whether they are extending or this is the last month for real.
