On the 27th of March 2018, the Department was alerted about a fake Post Level One Bulletin that has been in circulation on social media platforms as well via e-mails.

The bulletin is calling for approximately two thousand posts across all learning areas. Presently, the Department is not aware who is behind the leak, however, an investigation has been launched to get to the bottom of the situation and ensure that such things do not happen in the future.

Qaphela Luthuli, Director for HRA (Human Resources Management) has confirmed that the Department has not yet issued a post level 1 bulletin as it is currently busy with the movement of additional educators, placement of bursary holders and conversion of contracts once that process is completed, it would be in a position to issue a post level one bulletin. He also alluded that the Department has embarked on an initiative to collect a database for all unemployed educators in the Province.

The Department would like to issue an apology for this mishap and ensure the public that steps are taken to rectify the matter and ensure that such act are avoided at all cost.

Its disturbing that such a thing can happen within our esteemed ECDOE. However, I urge the powers that be to expedite the due processes and fill up vacant posts. There are many schools with no teacher in critical subjects such as Maths and Science.
